be in the know!

The collision of two passenger planes at Heathrow yesterday (16 October 07) is yet another reason to add to my list of reasons why I refuse to fly out of the airport.  I admit it’s been quite some time since I voluntarily used Heathrow as a hub airport between my local airport and my final destination – there was once I had no choice as my initial flight plans were changed and I was rerouted through this air traveler’s version of hell!

Why would anyone with any choice in the matter want to fly into an airport with so many terminals spread over so much ground that it requires a hair-raising journey on a bus to get between them and you need to allow so much additional time between arriving at Heathrow on one plane and departing on your next to cover the wasted time you spend hanging with one arm to a strap suspended from the ceiling, and your suitcases on the floor with the other.  This is not my idea of a relaxing start to a holiday!

Heathrow may well get its much needed and coveted new terminal now that it’s been publically proven that things are not safe as they are, and the UK’s major airport must be brought into the 21st century, but to me it’ll remain on that list of places to avoid!

Finally we have had progress with the website.Ellen made the suggestion that I change the DIN 125 part
