A high protein diet plan is one of the latest trends out there today. It seems to be that weight loss is something almost everyone is trying to achieve these days. It does not matter if you want to lose five pounds or fifty-five pounds. Losing weight is all over the news, on the radio, talked about in commercials and among friends and family. Now, losing weight is kind of a touchy subject with some people. It is like asking a woman if she is pregnant, when oops, she is not.
With that said, deciding to lose excess weight is not something that has to be done in a drastic or unhealthy way either. In fact, it is best to not be swayed by those TV commercials, or TV shows talking about losing weight or what your friends and family might say. In the end, it is your decision on how you will go about losing weight in a healthy and safe way.
Now that this is covered, if you are a meat eater, perhaps it is time to look at trying a high protein diet plan. Meat is a protein and if you are already eating meat, there is no need to stop eating it in order to lose weight. In fact, there are healthy ways to lose excess weight by doing a high protein diet.
Did you know that every body needs some source of protein to stay healthy in body and mind? Protein is a very important building block for keeping your muscles toned. In order to lose a specified amount of weight and be successful with your high protein diet plan, it would be in your best interest to cut the carbs. Carbs are things like pasta and breads. Oh yes, these are the most delicious carbs and very hard to cut out. But, if your goal to lose weight is important, then, if only for a month of two you decide to go the high protein diet way, it is necessary to cut the carbs.
A high protein diet plan is not hard to make because high protein foods are easy to find in your grocery store or health food store too. Let’s see, here are some foods high in protein:
Fish: (almost any type of fish is high in protein. Even fish like tuna fish, to salmon, to shrimp)
Eggs: (minus the whites). This is where all the cholesterol resides
Turkey: (lean turkey is the best and can be asked for at your local grocery store or health food store)
Beef and Meats: (It is best to find these types of protein as lean as possible)
Chicken: (this too can be found in a lean form)
Along with these excellent ways of losing weight with a high protein diet plan, is the number one and very easy form of protein to ingest everyday. This would be drinking water. Our bodies, for women have approximately 50 to 65% water and men have 60 to 65% water. With all that water in our bodies, it seems water is a pretty important part of our lives. So, if this much water is already in our bodies, one would conclude that drinking water is that much more important to our daily lives and staying healthy. Never underestimate the power of water and what it does for our bodies. The more you drink, between 8-16 ounces a day, the more your body will stay hydrated and you will see the excess weight practically fall off. Never give up on what water can do for your body and mind. Following the tips above and drinking plenty of water is the ultimate way to be successful with your high protein diet plan.
