Yoga is a form of exercise that not only helps the exterior parts of our body but also rejuvenates us from inside which is why this form of exercise has really taken the Western world by storm and today many people all over the world practice yoga to ensure they remain fit and healthy. Different asanas in yoga are being taught all over the world that are specifically designed to stimulate and relax certain points and parts in our body that would really boost our body performance making us feel more active. Recently, the term power yoga has been making news across the globe as many people are getting benefited through it without any side-effects.
Power Yoga actually is a general term that is been used in Western world to describe a vigorous fitness-based approach to vinyasa style yoga. It has been derived from the Ashtanga style of yoga but it does not follow particular poses that are there in Ashtanga style yoga which is what differentiates Ashtanga style yoga from power yoga. In power yoga the emphasis is given on strength and flexibility and is designed as per the needs of westerners and for those who would prefer light exercises rather than intense and complex asanas that would require more flexibility and patience.
Power Yoga also has some similarities with the typical classic yoga exercises like Surya Namaskar which is considered to be one of the basic yoga moves. Some of the advantages of power yoga are that it increases lean muscle tissues that help in burning calories and reduction of body’s fat percentage. Power Yoga works on your stomach and back muscles and increases the heartbeat and is designed to keep you fit by increasing your inner strength so that you can live longer and healthier.
