Using Coffee In Your Skin Care

Coffee has been widely consumed due to it’s invigorating effect it has each morning. In fact, many people rely on that cup of coffee to wake them up and get them going on with their day. Did you know, however, that coffee is also great for skin care?

Other than drinking coffee to wake you up in the morning, it also helps with certain issues such as colon cancer, cirrhosis, cardiovascular diseases, Alzheimer’s disease and much more. Coffee is now becoming more popular because of how it leaves the skin.

Coffee is full of antioxidants which tighten and firm the skin as well as work as an anti-aging skin softener. It has been shown that the coffee berries alone have three times the amount of antioxidants as green tea which has been proven to be great for skin care issues. The berry is extracted to reduce wrinkles, sun damage and discoloration of skin. This is why it is found in many sunscreens.

Coffee is being used in some of the top brand skin lotions such as Avon, L’Oreal and Neutrogena because of it’s antioxidants and the fact that it is a diuretic and a vasoconstrictor. For years, caffeine has been included in skin products to help fight cellulite by dehydrating fat cells and energizing them vacating the sodium and potassium components of cells. Caffeine is a favorite ingredient in certain eye gels as well to help reduce puffiness and dark eye circles. Coffee has also been included in many different skin care products such as face creams, body scrubs, exfoliates and fragrances.

So, the next time you brew that pot of coffee, you might want to consider including it in your daily skin care regimen for younger, firmer looking skin. Drink two to three cups daily for inner healing power as well as using it externally for brilliant, glowing skin.
