Eating fat to lose fat?

One of the most ridiculous pieces of dieting advice I have been given was to go on a ’fat diet’. I laughed when I was told to eat pretty much nothing but fat in order to lose weight. Surely it can’t work! All other diets are telling me to stop eating fat and you are telling me to live on it? Pfft!
Little did I know that this was actually one of the most effective diets I have tried. It is very easy - eat a calorie controlled diet of around 1000 calroies a day, 80-90% of which are fat, you eat no more than 25 grams of carbs a day and the rest is protein.
The diet is based on a very simple principle. If you eat fat and don’t eat carbs, then your body has to learn to extract its energy from burning fat and not carbs. This way once all the carbohydrate storage in your body is used up (and that happens within the first couple of days of the diet), your body turns into a fat burning machine. If on a carb based diet your body burns carbs for energy and once they are used up, asks for my carbs through hunger, on a fat based diet your body burns up the fat you eat and then goes on to burn your body fat without you even noticing!
If other diets have failed you and you need to see some results to get some motivation, I would highly recommend trying the fat diet. You can eat things like cheese, nuts, butter, eggs and cream as they are rich in fat and low in carbs. You won’t want to eat much once on this diet as fatty foods are very satiating and you will notice considerable weight loss within a couple of days.
